This week’s question: **What changes have you seen at the Jewish Federation since you’ve been here?** One thing that’s changed is how intentional we have become around encouraging people to access and engage with us, especially via social media. Staying connected is an important part of convening Jewish communities today. Our Jewish Federation [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/jewishphilly/), [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/jewishphilly/) and [Twitter](https://twitter.com/JFedinPhilly) platforms are all great ways to do that — they’re hubs where we can easily meet and talk and share. Personally, I’m partial to Facebook for this kind of communication. (If you follow me on Twitter, you will see I usually share more news from around the country and the world than engage directly with people.) I try to friend as many volunteers as I can on Facebook, and by following their posts I really learn a lot about our communities. My favorite posts are about baby namings, weddings and joyful moments, although it is also really important for me to be able to learn about illness and loss, so we can reach out whenever possible to every Jew in need. One wonderful thing I’ve learned about Philadelphians is how many people love to travel, especially to Israel! Our volunteers post a lot of pictures, particularly from our missions! This is one of my favorite moments, as it allows me, as well as so many who haven’t been on a mission yet, to see how transformative these trips are in people’s lives. I highly encourage you to follow our official Jewish Federation Facebook page. It is a large portal into our Jewish communities — we share so much about what’s happening and how you can engage. It has useful information about our affinities and partners, volunteer opportunities, events, photos, and also purely fun things, like some of the videos we post. If you haven’t already seen our recent short video of [Philadelphians trying to blow the shofar](https://www.facebook.com/jewishphilly/videos/10154774127832021/), it’s worth a watch. And if you like it, let us know! Or if you have a question, send us (or me) a direct message. As we say every day, we’d love to start a conversation — because it is so important for friends, and communities, to stay connected.
