All your questions for Naomi Adler answered! This week’s question:
What are you tackling at Jewish Federation this summer?
In the summertime the pace slows down at the Jewish Federation, which makes it a great time of the year for us to reassess our organization and make sure we’re working effectively. We’re always mindful that our fundraising and allocation decisions should be guided by the communities’ needs — and in order to do that, we need to make sure we fully understand the ever-shifting needs of our Jewish communities.
Right now we’re taking that assessment two steps further. First, our Strategic Impact Leadership Commission (SILC) is closely examining our funding process and making recommendations to ensure we’re in sync with the communities’ needs. In addition, we’re now well into the planning stages of our Community Portrait: A Population Study of Greater Philadelphia. Like all Jewish Federations, every ten years we fund a study on behalf of the Jewish communities to further inform us and our partner agencies about our communities’ changing demographics and needs, so that we can serve them most impactfully. I’m excited for this study to begin this fall, for the results to be released next year and for everyone in our communities to engage us with their reactions.
Finally, if you’d like to talk with me about your impact in our communities, summer is a great time to have a conversation with me. Fewer events on my calendar means more time for personal meetings, and I look forward to this time of year when I can meet with you, answer your questions, and brainstorm about how together we can begin to repair the world. Shabbat Shalom,
Naomi
