Fighting Antisemitism and Supporting Israel Through Sports and Activism

Jared Armstrong is a 27-year-old Black Jewish American-Israeli professional basketball player, who currently plays in Israel for Elizur Ashkelon. Jared, who resides in Philadelphia during the off-season, uses his platform at the intersection of the Black and American Jewish experience, together with his expertise in sports, public advocacy and education to speak out against racism, antisemitism, and hate in all forms. In 2023, Jared started JAB Camp, a Philadelphia-based basketball camp bringing together Black and Jewish youth with the aim of teaching hard work, pluralism, and unity through diversity. He was in Southern Israel on Oct. 7 and has been an outspoken advocate for Israel and the return of the hostages and has dedicated his time to telling Israel’s story to international media outlets ever since. Join this month's distribution and help to pack and deliver food for low-income individuals across the Greater Philadelphia area. From 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m., join JRA Juniors for ages 10 and under to pack boxes and enjoy stories and crafts. Starting at 10:00 a.m., packing for ages 10 and older will begin. The bill's implications send her on a riveting exploration of identity, legacy and life in diaspora.
