The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s NextGen group hosted their Signature Event on Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Down Town Club. The event brought together over 150 leaders and young philanthropists, ages 22 to 40, for an evening of mingling cocktails and conversation.
“It was incredible to see so many passionate young philanthropists come together to celebrate their connection to the Jewish community,” said NextGen Board Chair Arielle Lechner. “Moments like this remind us that the next generation isn’t just showing up — they’re stepping up as leaders and helping to shape the future of Jewish life in Philadelphia.”
The event featured Jonah Platt, host of the hit podcast “Being Jewish”, actor and advocate for the Jewish community. During a conversation moderated by Event Chair Dan Mozes, Platt explored the evolution of media and misinformation, the shifting landscape for Jews in America and on college campuses post–Oct. 7, and the challenges of navigating faith and family in a polarized world. Platt also reflected on his deep roots in Jewish communal service and shared insights on how young adults can stay engaged and make an impact.
