Costumes, Dancing and Zoo Animals: Purim 2024 Recap

Written by Rachel Cohen | Mar 29, 2024 3:39:01 PM

As we pack away our costumes and eat the last of our hamantaschen, the story of Purim still weighs heavy on our minds as we think about the bravery and resilience of the Jewish people.

“More than ever, it is important for our Jewish community to come together and experience the joyous moments of being Jewish,” said Lori Rubin, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s director of Leadership Development & Governance. “We, at the Jewish Federation, provide opportunities along with supporting organizations to embrace our traditions and to do so with a deep sense of Jewish pride.”

The Jewish Federation’s Kehillot (neighborhood groups) and NextGen (young adult group) hosted and partnered on events throughout the Greater Philadelphia area to celebrate the Jewish holiday.

The Buxmont Kehillah celebrated Purim with a Mitzvah on March 10 and made Mishloach Manot (goodie bags) for the residents at Horsham Center for Jewish Life.
