Few things give our Jewish Federation more nachas than seeing young Jewish leaders realize their potential. Which is why on September 11th, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is thrilled to honor three outstanding volunteers with its Young Leadership Awards: Ben Kirshner, Lauren Danneman and Stu Goodman.
All three recipients embody the spirit of service and commitment to Jewish community. Lauren serves on our Commission for Jewish Life and Learning, our Committee for Israel and Global Strategy and our Women’s Philanthropy Board; is an active member of National Young Leadership Cabinet and just returned from co-chairing the first JFNA/Birthright trip for young adults. She’s also involved at the Jewish Federation of Delaware and is an engaged volunteer at Kohelet Yeshiva Lab School and Mesivta High School. Stu sits on our Jewish Federation’s Board of Trustees and our Committee for Israel and Global Strategy, is a member of National Young Leadership Cabinet and is highly involved with Jewish Federation’s partnership organization the Jewish Agency for Israel, including recently leading a mission to the Jewish communities of Britain and France. Finally, Ben serves as a member of our Jewish Federation’s Board of Trustees and our Board of Directors, has chaired a Men’s Mission to Israel and also is a past co-chair of The Main Event, our Jewish Federation’s biggest night of the year. Yasher koach to all three award recipients!
To ensure a strong Jewish future, our Jewish Federation cultivates our next generation of leaders through programs designed for different ages and stages. NextGen gathers for happy hours, mitzvah opportunities and more. Another excellent program for young professionals (ages 21-45) is our Leadership Development Program, which helps you explore your leadership style and learn how to apply it to communal involvement. Applications for the 2019-2020 Leadership Development Program are being accepted through October 4th, so don’t delay — for more information and to apply, click here.
