As part of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, Women’s Philanthropy has several opportunities this spring to make a difference in our Jewish community. Whether you want to lend a hand, connect with inspiring women, or support vital causes, we have many ways to give back. The following organizations are supported by the Jewish Federation.
Clothing Drive for Our Closet
Clean out your closets and donate gently used men’s clothing, shoes and coats to Our Closet, a free program that provides individuals with basic necessities. Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea, stay to chat or simply drop off your items. No sign-up is required.
Donations will be collected during the following dates and times:
Spring Event at Mitzvah Circle
Wednesday, March 19 | 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 – 2:30 p.m.
435 Doylestown Road, Lansdale, PA 19446
Join other Women’s Philanthropy members at Mitzvah Circle to pack and sort donated clothing items for families in need. There are two volunteer time-slots; some walking and some light lifting is involved for this program. Volunteers should sign up in advance as Mitzvah Circle does not accept walk-in registrations and space for each session is limited. To participate, click here.
Save the Date: Volunteer With Jewish Relief Agency
Thursday, April 24 | 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
10980 Dutton Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154
Participate in Jewish Relief Agency (JRA), which helps nourish more than 6,000 diverse low-income individuals across Greater Philadelphia. Opportunities include packing kosher food boxes at JRA’s Food Distribution warehouse. Stay tuned for registration information, which will be available next month!
