Get your costumes, graggers and hamentashen ready – that’s right Purim is here!
Beginning the evening of March 2 through March 3, the holiday of Purim commemorates the Book of Esther, a story of bravery, faith and the miraculous survival of the Jewish people.
In celebration of the holiday, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is hosting, collaborating on and sponsoring various festive opportunities for community members to don their costumes and get into the Purim spirit.
“Purim reminds us to celebrate our Jewish identity loudly and joyfully — even, and especially, in times when it takes courage to do so,” said Senior Chief of External Affairs Jeffrey Lasday. We are proud to support various opportunities throughout the region for our community members to come together for this festive holiday as a way to honor our heritage and ensure Jewish life continues to thrive.”
Whether you’re looking for family-friendly carnivals, ways to perform mitzvot, or a chance to get dressed up and celebrate, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
