With Yom HaShoah being observed later this month, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia continues to “bear witness” by educating the community through Holocaust education and remembrance events. See how you can commemorate Holocaust Remembrance Day with your community and ensure that we never forget.

 

58th Annual Philadelphia Holocaust Memorial Ceremony

Observe Yom HaShoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day, at our in-person Holocaust Memorial Ceremony. Commemorate the six million Jews who perished in the Shoah and honor the survivors living in our communities. The ceremony will include candle lighting, music, readings and prayers. If you are attending the event in person, join the Israeli American Council to walk together from the Rocky steps to the Holocaust Monument as part of "6 Million Steps, 6 Million Lives," an international effort. Yom HaShoah Commemoration

In honor of Yom HaShoah, join 3G Philly and Philadelphia Holocaust Remembrance Foundation to commemorate the history of the Holocaust with prayer, candle lighting and an art project for families to write and draw meaningful messages on stones. We will put these stones at the monument to recognize the next generations that will tell the stories of the Holocaust, and to represent 3rd and 4th generation survivors. The Kehillah of Old York Road Commemorates Yom HaShoah In Her Own Words

Hear Sophie Rosenbaum’s incredible story about how she escaped the Holocaust by the Vienna Kindertransport. Learn about Sophie’s journey through her own words as well as her son’s, Dr. David Bader. They will share pictures and documents of their family's life in Vienna, the jailing of Sophie's father in Dachau during Kristallnacht, and the family's ultimate reunion in America.
