How to Commemorate Women’s History Month with Women of Vision

Written by Jewish Federation Staff | Mar 3, 2022 5:24:49 PM

Just over 100 years ago, the women’s suffrage movement secured women’s right to vote for future generations. As we enter Women’s History Month, we are reminded that progressive change is a result of hard work, determination, and that when women support each other, incredible things happen. It’s with this same resolution that Women of Vision, an affinity group of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, transforms the lives of self-identifying Jewish women and girls in Greater Philadelphia and in Israel.

Voting is a quintessential part of how Women of Vision accomplishes this tremendous feat of advancing the lives of women. Annually, each member has the opportunity to cast a vote on programs they believe deserve funding to create and inspire social change and justice. Since 1994, Women of Vision has collectively decided and distributed through its endowment fund more than $1 million to 40 nonprofit organizations.

Outside of strategic grantmaking, Women of Vision is also lighting the way in social change and justice through advocacy and educational programs.

Check out some of the way you can commemorate Women’s History Month with Women of Vision this March:

  1. For book worms and activists alike, join Women of Vision on March 10 at 4:00 p.m. for a virtual discussion of She Said: Breaking the Sexual Harassment Story That Helped Ignite a Movement by Pulitzer-prize winning reporters Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey. Delve into this ground breaking investigative work of Harvey Weinstein's sexual harassment and abuse that triggered the global reckoning on sexual misconduct before hearing directly from Megan Twohey as Women of Vision’s keynote speaker for their upcoming Spring Event on May 19. 2. Experience the Designing Motherhood exhibit at the Mutter Museum with Women of Vision on Sunday, March 20 at 1:00 p.m. This revolutionary exhibit meditates on why and how we have developed designs to facilitate reproductive health, and the political, economic, and social implications of how we medicalize reproduction.
