The Jewish Federation’s Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) has entered a partnership with OpenDor Media and its Unpacked division to provide free and dynamic educational resources for local educators to help combat anti-Israel and antisemitic content online.
“Our partnership with OpenDor Media will allow us to access the tools we all need, old or young, to greater articulate the importance of Jewish values in our lives and to feel confident as we talk about our support of Israel when doing so may seem challenging, or even, sadly, unsafe,” said Danielle Weiss, JCRC Chair.
OpenDor Media’s Unpacked division includes a YouTube channel with more than 100,000 subscribers and a podcast with more than 25,000 views.
“Their videos are really easy to access; they’re very easy to start a conversation,” said Jason Holtzman, JCRC Director. “The more resources that we can provide that are digital, especially to engage a younger audience, the better.”
Noam Weissman, Executive Vice President for OpenDor Media also looks forward to the new partnership. “We are so grateful to be partnering with the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia,” he said. “We're confident that our nuanced and innovative approach to Jewish and Israel Education will enable the community's educators to engage their students in a deep and meaningful way, and are excited to see how, through our joint efforts, local students will be empowered to confidently address the issues facing them today and to confidently embrace their Jewish identity.”
JCRC professionals will host a virtual training session for educators throughout the Greater Philadelphia community on Wednesday, March 9, to introduce the Unpacked for Educators content and how it can be implemented into curricula. Educators can register here.
