This month, we’re breaking down the history of Jewish and interfaith activism, followed by a conversation on [Israel’s recent elections ](http://jewishexponent.com/2019/04/17/israeli-election-a-major-victory-for-the-right/)with Jewish Exponent reporter Jesse Bernstein, and finally we’re sharing the remarkable [story of the Theresienstadt Tree](https://jfed.demo.cshp.co/the-tree-that-survived-the-holocaust/), otherwise known as the tree that survived the Holocaust.

For our special interview this episode, we welcome a guest co-host, Marc Prine, who is a committee member for [Philadelphia’s Holocaust Memorial event](https://jfed.demo.cshp.co/get-involved/signature-events/holocaust-memorial-day/) on April 28th. With Marc, we had the honor to sit down with local Holocaust survivor Ann Jaffe to hear her story of when the Nazis invaded her small hometown in Poland, her family’s remarkable escape and survival in a nearby forest, and why it’s so important for her to share her story with local students.

To hear the entirety of Ann’s story, including her remarkable escape to the Soviet Union and liberation from the Nazis, [click here](https://vimeo.com/30390185).
