When Greater Philadelphia’s real estate industry comes together, good things are bound to happen. But there’s only one gathering that guarantees amazing things will happen: Jewish Federation Real Estate’s (JFRE) annual Legends and Leaders, which brings together the best and brightest real estate minds for a morning of innovative ideas — with plenty of time reserved for swapping handshakes and business cards. Or, as JFRE Chair Michael Markman puts it: “It’s a morning filled with people you know and people you would like to know.”
Through JFRE, an affinity group of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia, our region’s real estate community comes together for events ranging from sneak peeks at new developments to fundraising and hands-on volunteerism. Because it’s not only real estate that connects the group; JFRE members are united in their commitment to doing good. In fact, this year’s 8th annual Legends and Leaders will celebrate that commitment, which over the past 12 months has led to a record-breaking charitable year: In addition to awarding 19 grants, totaling an unprecedented $655,358, JFRE also responded to last November’s terrible tragedy at Pittsburgh’s Tree of Life synagogue by funding 29 security assessments for local Jewish institutions.
That’s what Legends and Leaders is all about: enhancing the power of the real estate community to accomplish a greater good. At this year’s event, industry leaders will lead breakout panels ranging from technology to the economy, giving attendees the inside scoop on the hottest upcoming trends. To top it all off, keynote speaker Mark Wilf will share his experiences as a partner in the development firm Garden Homes, as owner/president of the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings, and as the new chair of the Board of Trustees of The Jewish Federations of North America.
Legends and Leaders is open to members and non-members of JFRE. To join us for the morning of real estate networking and learning, which takes place on May 3rd, 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the Crystal Tea Room, click here or contact rsigman@jewishphilly.org.
