Ready for a new kind of conversation?

The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia’s Delaware County Kehillah and Center City Kehillah are hosting a virtual series to take on some of life’s toughest questions by exploring traditional and non-traditional Jewish sources with local clergy.

Jewish Wisdom for Life’s Great Questions: A Learning Circle will take place over the course of ten sessions from January through March. Open to all, this inclusive program is hosted in partnership with IYUN, a cohort-based Jewish learning experience that builds community and a love of Torah study for adults.

"I am proud and excited that the Delaware County Kehillah is offering this innovative program, which utilizes the creative resources and knowledge of IYUN, paired with the teaching skills, insights, and energy of many of the Delaware County rabbis,” said Delaware County Kehillah’s Community Engagement Specialist Shelley Rappaport. “Our Learning Circle is a meaningful opportunity for community members, especially young professionals, to come together to delve into the big questions of life, viewed through a Jewish lens."

Each week, a new question will be introduced and tackled through a facilitated conversation with a clergy member from Delaware County’s various synagogues and Jewish institutions:
Congregation Beth El – Ner Tamid, Congregation Beth Israel of Media, Congregation Ohev Shalom, Mekom Torah, Temple Sholom in Broomall and Wesley Enhanced Living.

While based on Jewish texts, no previous Jewish knowledge is necessary. Wherever one is on their journey with Judaism, this program is designed to be a safe and welcoming place to explore.

“Everyone is invited to join our learning circle, including young professionals, interfaith couples, those raising Jewish children, spiritual seekers and individuals considering conversion,” continued Rappaport. “This is an inclusive and welcoming space that is for anyone curious about Judaism.”
