Our first dose of winter cold outdoors calls for something hearty and warm indoors. This savory slow-cooker dish makes for the perfect cold-weather food, and the ingredients can be easily swapped for any of your favorites. Substitute beef for lamb, if you like; or, for a vegetarian meal, use beets instead. And the longer you let this concoction simmer, the richer the flavor, making leftovers a delight — that is, if your guests leave anything behind.
