Women’s Philanthropy of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is looking forward to celebrating the generosity of women in the community at the Annual Lion of Judah Event on Wednesday, September 27 at the Hilton Philadelphia City Avenue.

“The Annual Lion of Judah Event is the highlight and kickoff of our year!” said Women’s Philanthropy Director Lindsay Davidman. “It's an amazing opportunity for our most dedicated philanthropists to connect with each other and raise money in support of our global Jewish communities.”

This year, five remarkable women who have served as Chairs of the Board of the Jewish Federation are being honored (in order of service): Miriam (Mimi) Schneirov, Ande Adelman, Sherrie Savett, Susanna Lachs Adler and Gail Norry. The event is being planned by a multi-generational team including event chairs Judy Newman and Shelby Zitelman, Women’s Philanthropy Leadership Tracy Gordon (Chair), Allison Goodman (Campaign Chair), Robin Robbins and Jen Thomas (co-chairs elect), and Master of Ceremonies Rabbi Shira Stutman.

“These women inspire me and motivate me to keep working towards an even brighter future for the Jewish people,” continued Davidman. “By working together, the women in Philadelphia have helped secure our local Jewish institutions, offered tuition assistance for Jewish education and camping, provided food for refugees, offered aid and socialization for older adults, taught holocaust education to public school students, inspired teenagers and young adults to engage in Jewish life, and responded to global crises immediately and efficiently. I'm so proud to work with these incredible changemakers.”

Lions and their guests are welcome to register for this year’s Lion of Judah event at jewishphilly.org/loje.
