One Year Later: Commemorate the Oct. 7 Massacre

Lauren Grodstein Author Event
Tuesday, Oct. 29 | 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
Ambler Theater

New York Times bestselling author Lauren Grodstein will be celebrating the release of “We Must Not Think of Ourselves” a heart-wrenching and intimate novel of defiance set inside the Warsaw Ghetto. Lunch & Learn: A Rereading of Creation

Are men and women intrinsically different according to Judaism? Was the first human a man or an androgynous being? Was Eve created from Adam's side? Why are women treated as almost an entirely different species by the early rabbis? And what might God have to say about all of this? Rebuilt from Broken Glass

Fred Behrend and Larry Hanover will speak about the book and documentary, "Rebuilt from Broken Glass: A German Jewish Life Remade in America." Fred Behrend witnessed the flames of Kristallnacht in 1938 at age 12, seeing synagogue after synagogue on fire, and was soon fleeing Nazi tyranny.
