Last week, Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia President and CEO Michael Balaban introduced President of Temple University Jason Wingard to Israel's President Isaac Herzog and selected Israeli government officials.

This trip was part of the Blue Ribbon Commission on Antisemitism and University Responses that Wingard established earlier this year. The commission is co-chaired by the Jewish Federation's past Board Chair Susanna Lachs Adler and Community Engagement Committee Co-Chair Jonathan Broder.

This private meeting with President Herzog was a unique opportunity for Wingard to present the university's intention to strengthen academic partnerships with higher education institutions, engage with local alumni, and meet with civic and business leaders, while also learning about innovation in Israel.
