Ready to Take the Leap? Women's Leap Launches Lion's Leap Campaign

Written by Jewish Federation Staff | Oct 27, 2021 1:17:00 PM

In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Lion of Judah, Women’s Philanthropy is proud to announce Lion’s Leap.

Lions of Judah are an international sisterhood of women who proudly share a commitment to their local communities and to ensuring a vibrant Jewish future. Lions make an annual gift of $5,000 or more to their local Jewish Federation.

There are three ways to take the leap as part of this year-long campaign:

  1. Become a Lion of Judah
  2. Increase your current Lion gift by at least 20%, or leap to a higher Lion level
  3. Establish a Lion of Judah Endowment Fund (LOJE)

“I took the leap after witnessing firsthand the hardships this past 18 months has placed on so many people,” said Debra Zweben, a loyal Lion of Judah.

The first $50,000 of increased gifts in the 2022 Campaign Year will support HIAS, which is doing work to support family reunification and immigration to our Philadelphia community, and Gumat Chen, a school in our partner region in Israel, which supports at-risk women and girls who are receiving care, treatment, and recovery after leaving abusive situations. The remaining funds will be directed to the Jewish Community Fund in support of the vital work we do each and everyday as the Jewish Federation.

Local Lions will be invited to celebrate 50 years of Lion of Judah at our virtual Annual Lion of Judah event on Tuesday, December 7th from 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Please save the date and stay tuned for more information.
