Statement About the Shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh

Written by Emma Needleman | Oct 27, 2018 8:46:13 PM

We are shocked and deeply saddened by the news this morning from the Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh.  We are monitoring the situation closely.  Our Security Director, Frank Riehl has been communicating with the Philadelphia Police Department to ensure the safety of Philadelphia area synagogues and Jewish community centers today.

We will have more to say as the situation continues to develop. For now, our thoughts and prayers are with our Jewish brothers and sisters in Pittsburgh.

Please join the Jewish Community Relations Council of Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia at Rodeph Shalom for an interfaith vigil in remembrance of and support for our Jewish brothers and sisters affected by the horrific events at Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh Saturday morning. All are welcome.
