The Jewish Federation’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee, composed of seven employees representing different departments, works collaboratively to provide a variety of educational opportunities and events with the purpose of engaging staff in meaningful conversations and celebrating differences.

Our Mission Statement

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee will facilitate and foster an environment that is welcoming, professional, productive, and safe for all, and will help to maintain a workplace which is free from bias, prejudice and harassment. Our organization and our mission are strengthened when all employees have a voice and are encouraged to contribute. We believe that employees should feel valued and recognized for their individual and collective contributions, and our goal is to build and leverage a diverse and inclusive workplace allowing employees to achieve their professional goals. We will do this through education and advocacy whether within the workplace or within our community. We believe that our differences make us a stronger, well rounded and more impactful team, which in turn allows us to thoughtfully carry out our mission and achieve our organizational goals.

Commitment to Diversity

We deeply value the diversity of insight, perspective, and experience brought by people from backgrounds typically underrepresented in Jewish institutions. This includes Black, Latinx, and Asian people, Black Jews, Jews of Color, lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, and gender non-conforming people, and people with disabilities. We also welcome applications from people of diverse religious, spiritual, and cultural backgrounds.
