The Jewish Federation's Jewish Community Relations Council Celebrates Women's History Month

Written by Jewish Federation Staff | Feb 28, 2023 2:32:22 PM

On Thursday, March 16 at 7:00 p.m., join the Philadelphia Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), Women's Philanthropy, Women of Vision, Jewish Learning Venture and jkid4all for an important discussion featuring two prominent Jewish women of color — Amy Albertson and Elisheva Rishon.

Together, these women will discuss experiences that they have had as women of color in the Jewish community, why they choose to spend time as influencers on social media, and the challenges that they face as women on and off of social media. The conversation will also focus on Women's History Month generally and the challenges that women are facing across the county.

ABOUT THE SPEAKERS

Amy Albertson is a Jewish advocate and educator from California. While living in Israel, she created "The Asian Israeli," cataloging her experiences as a Chinese-American Jewish woman. Through online activism, public speaking, and workshops, Amy empowers young Jews to be unapologetically Jewish, both online and in their everyday lives.

Elisheva Rishon is an Orthodox Jewish American woman who was born and raised in the Orthodox Jewish communities of Brooklyn. She founded Eli7 Designs, a cultural empowerment apparel brand. She is an artist, a writer, a designer & a speaker. She frequently discusses Antisemitism, Anti-Black Racism, Orthodox Judaism, Colorism and Modest Fashion.
