The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is pleased to welcome Melissa Goldstein as the new community engagement manager.

“I’ve had many positive experiences with the Jewish Federation throughout my life, including two highly impactful teen Israel trips when I was in high school,” said Goldstein. “Working for the Jewish Federation has always been a dream of mine, and I’m excited for the opportunity to give back to the community that has given me so much.”

Prior to joining the Jewish Federation, Goldstein worked for the Visiting Angels as an intake coordinator. In this role, she was the point of contact for individuals seeking home care services and managed intake calls.

Goldstein also worked for the Jewish Relief Agency (JRA) — a grantee of the Jewish Federation — as the warehouse manager. She managed the daily operations and the monthly distributions, while keeping the volunteers engaged and energized.

Prior to working for JRA, Goldstein was the director of the Certified Peer Specialist Program at Salisbury Behavioral Health. During her time there she built strong relationships with the community to enhance resources for the program participants.

Goldstein holds a Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitation and Human Services from The Pennsylvania State University.

In her new role, Goldstein will oversee the Jewish Federation’s Buxmont Kehillah. She will also help connect neighborhood community members with each other, as well as Jewish programs and resources.

“I am excited about the opportunity to strengthen and grow the Buxmont Jewish community,” continued Goldstein. “I’m grateful to be working in a Jewish-focused environment that aligns with my values and supports my personal and professional growth.”
