The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is pleased to welcome Samantha Holzer as the new community engagement manager.

“When I was looking to make a change, it was important to me to continue working within the Jewish community,” said Holzer. “I knew I wanted to be surrounded by like-minded people who shared the same commitment to strengthening and supporting the Jewish community. I knew I needed to feel fulfilled in the work I was doing and see the direct impact within the community.”

Prior to joining the Jewish Federation, Holzer worked for Philly Friendship Circle as the program coordinator, and, most recently, as the program manager. At Philly Friendship Circle, Holzer developed and delivered all programming aimed at connecting teenagers and young adults with special needs youth and their families.

She collaborated with key stakeholders to create and execute nearly 100 programs per year and was also responsible for overseeing all elements of the Sunday Circle program, a two-hour, weekly activity-based program for children with special needs and their neurotypical peers.

Holzer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Family Services from Ohio University.

“I am super excited about this next chapter, to grow, challenge myself and make meaningful connections in the Kehillot I'll be working with,” continued Holzer. “These past few years have been especially challenging for Jewish people. Being a part of something bigger, that inspires leadership, connection and a sense of belonging here in Philadelphia, is what really excites me.”

In her new role, Holzer will oversee the Jewish Federation’s Center City, Northeast and Old York Road Kehillot. She will also help connect neighborhood community members with each other, as well as Jewish programs and resources.
