The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is pleased to welcome Isabella Duarte as the new community engagement specialist for the Old York Road Kehillah.
“I have looked up to the Jewish Federation as the ultimate pillar of impact in our Greater Philadelphia community since I was a kid, and it’s been my dream to work here,” said Duarte. “I am continuously inspired by the Jewish Federation’s growing impact locally, in Israel and elsewhere around the world.”
Prior to joining the Jewish Federation, Duarte worked for the University of Delaware’s Student Government as the director of outreach and relational engagement. She was responsible for outreach across the campus, within the community and building relationships with community leaders.
Duarte was part of the JEVS Franklin C. Ash summer internship program, where she worked on fostering connections between businesses and Jewish nonprofits in the Greater Philadelphia area.
Duarte holds a Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship, Social Entrepreneurship and Jewish Studies with Hebrew from the University of Delaware.
“Joining the Jewish Federation as the community engagement specialist for the Old York Road Kehillah, the community I’ve grown up in my whole life, is a dream come true and is incredibly full circle for me,” said Duarte. “I get to work alongside clergy, staff, congregants and community members I’ve known my entire life as well as Old York Road community members I can’t wait to meet.”
As the community engagement specialist for the Old York Road Kehillah, she will help connect community members within the neighborhood with each other and with Jewish programs and resources.
