Watch: A Day at JRA

Every month, our Jewish Federation-supported Jewish Relief Agency (JRA) packs and delivers over 3,200 boxes of nourishing food, serving more than 6,000 food-insecure people in our area. Such a huge effort requires an enormous army of volunteers: Around 1,000 people gather at JRA’s Northeast Philly warehouse each month to get the job done. And they do it with pizazz! With music playing and everyone smiling as they move in well-ordered lines, dropping items into boxes, the energy is spirited and cheerful.

Recently some members of NextGen — our affinity group for ages 21-45 — volunteered at JRA together on a Sunday morning and found it a powerful, energizing experience. Want to see what a day at JRA is like? Watch the video to experience it with them! JRA always needs more helping hands, especially in the summertime, so if you’re moved to volunteer for an upcoming JRA food distribution, click here.
