The women of Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia had a ball this fall, and we have the pictures to prove it!

On October 10th, Jewish Federation’s Women’s Philanthropy held its annual Lion of Judah event, with a twist: In response to requests to accommodate working women’s schedules, this year’s Lion Lunch was a dinner! Almost 200 guests attended to hear from our keynote speaker, broadcaster Jenna Wolfe, who discussed her experiences growing up Jewish in Jamaica and Haiti. Co-chairs Danielle Weiss and Ellen Golder Saft presented the Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland award to Lyn Neff for creating our Mitzvah Food Program and for her generous philanthropy.

Our Jewish Federation is proud to have welcomed several new Lions of Judah as a result of this event, which raised over $500,000 for our Jewish communities.

On October 30th, the Women of Vision affinity group at the Jewish Federation hosted their fall event at WHYY studios in Philadelphia. The sold-out evening brought together an intergenerational group of change makers to learn more about the group’s work and to take part in a thought-provoking conversation with filmmaker Sara Hirsh Bordo. Attendees also had the opportunity to catch a preview of an educational video from CeaseFirePA, an organization that was provided crucial funding by a Women of Vision grant.
