This fall, the women of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia had a full slate of events that were hands-on, meaningful, informative and fun — and we have the pictures to prove it!

Cooking with Women’s Philanthropy

In September, a sold-out crowd gathered at Reading Terminal Market to learn how to make matzah ball soup together. Rabbanit Dasi Fruchter also taught about the significance of food in Jewish tradition, for an extra dash of pre-High Holiday inspiration.

Women of Vision Fall Event: 25th Anniversary Celebration

On September 24th at the Rittenhouse Hotel, 150 attendees celebrated Women of Vision’s 25th anniversary. The evening was a chance to connect and to commemorate Women of Vision’s important legacy of empowering Jewish women and girls. Keynote speaker Sheila Katz, CEO of the National Council of Jewish Women, shared how her organization’s network of women are living out their Jewish values and turning ideas into action — just like our Women of Vision.

High Holiday Food Sort

In November, volunteers gathered at the SHARE warehouse for the annual mitzvah of sorting food donations from the High Holiday Food Drive — 50,000 pounds’ worth! It’s an important step in getting the food ready for distribution through our five Mitzvah Food Program pantries, and our participants did their work with verve. Channel 6ABC even stopped by!
