This Women’s History Month, the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia is highlighting the incredible work of Women’s Philanthropy, one of its affinity groups.

“As I reflect on my role as Chair of Women's Philanthropy, I feel most proud of the meaningful opportunities we have provided for women to gather together in serving our community's most pressing needs locally as well as in Israel,” said Women’s Philanthropy Chair Tracy Gordon, who will complete her two-year position in May.

Women's Philanthropy is an affinity group of the Jewish Federation that convenes women from all around the Greater Philadelphia region to connect with each other, volunteer, travel, learn about issues facing Jewish communities locally and globally, and serve as ambassadors for Jewish Federation in synagogues, neighborhoods, and beyond. Over 700 women in Greater Philadelphia are Lions of Judah, who are generous philanthropists giving $5,000 or more annually to the Jewish community. This critical support allows our Jewish Federation to care for those in need, combat antisemitism and global crisis, and strengthen Jewish identity.

“Particularly following the isolation of the pandemic, women have eagerly embraced our programs as a unique vehicle for making a collective impact which far exceeds the sum of each of our own individual contributions,” Gordon continued.

Gordon will be succeeded by Robin Robbins and Jenifer (Jen) Thomas, who will be installed as the new Women’s Philanthropy Co-Chairs at the group’s closing board meeting in May.

This past September, Women’s Philanthropy honored the five incredible women who have served as Board Chairs of the Jewish Federation, highlighting their accomplishments and leadership journeys: Miriam (Mimi) Schneirov, Ande Adelman, Sherrie Savett, Susanna Lachs Adler and Gail Norry.
